When I was going to St Ives . . .
I’m off down to the sunny south west soon to meet up with some of our regular artists.
I always enjoy the whirlwind tour of Cornwall, despite the hundreds of miles covered, and in the last two years my Spring sojourn has taken me to some wonderful places and I’ve enjoyed some unseasonably glorious weather.
This time I’ll be in Mousehole, Mullion, Perranuthnoe, Penzance, Marazion, Falmouth and Camborne. I’ll post some pictures when I return.
This is a picture of my trip there in May 2010.
Lucie Bray on film
St Ives artist Lucie Bray’s unusual working practices – she always works outdoors, whatever the weather . . . snow, gales, heatwave(!) – have been the subject of several short films over the past couple of year. She has featured on BBC Cornwall and Country File.
Here is footage of Lucie working on Porthmeor beach under her specially designed canvas.
