Take a break . . . and meet our latest jeweller – Rachel Llewellyn – and her fantastic tea and biscuits!
Rachel makes work that is inspired by the memories, secrets and stories held within objects. She is particularly inspired by vessels, tools and utensils that people have used everyday.
A lot of her inspiration also comes from her Welsh background and childhood memories, such as visiting her Gran’s house where she would marvel at the precious objects she kept stashed away in her sideboard and old wooden dresser. She remembers playing with the glass perfume bottles on her dressing table, and listening to the conversations she and her mother would have over a long cup of tea.
The majority of Rachel’s work is made in sterling silver, though she also uses gold, wood and mixed materials.
