St Ives Watercolourist Clare White – Thoresby Gallery, Nottinghamshire, 2009
This exhibition featured a large selection of White’s paintings from all over the world as well as fascinating displays of White’s sketch books, posters and memorabillia. It drew comparisons between the artist and Thoresby’s own Lady Manvers – Marie-Louise Pierrepont – herself a dedicated traveller, watercolourist and lady of Edwardian sensibilities. Curators talks were given.
